Study on the Differences between Sasang Constitutional Medicine and Traditional Oriental Medicine

Abstract
1. Purpose :
Sasang Constitutional Medicine and Traditional Oriental Medicine are different in their system but they are very effective clinically. It was very difficult to find mutual connections because of differences in their philosophy and historical origin. In this study, I try to find the mutual connections by comparing differences between two of them.

2. Method :
I studied about differences and similarities by comparing in their systemic, historical and therapeutic aspects

3. Results and Conclusion :

1. Traditional Oriental Medicine focus on Naturalism, by considering Nature as more important one in their relationship between Human and Nature. While Sasang Constitutional Medicine put more emphasis on Human in its way of thinking.

2. Traditional Oriental Medicine has undergone confutation, arrangement and assembiling since The Yellow Emperor¡¯s Internal Medicine and Sanghanron. Meanwhile Sasang Constitutional Medicine overcame medical limits of Donguibogam and born during the process of to be more developed and concrete.

3. Traditional Oriental Medicine ignore Human individuality and define the relationship between human and etiology as more standard one. And it has classification system which can apply more commonly. While Sasang Constitutional Medicine is different from Traditional Medicine in diagnosis. It has a different viewpoint in diagnosis. During the diagnosis, classify constitution at first and then examine symptom to trying to understand disease depending on their constitution.
